I need to quit drawing so many boring disembodied Addie heads. Of course, I didn't really expect the sketch here on the left to turn out as anything that you don't have to squint your eyes at to be able to discover what I was attempting to draw underneath all the messy lines, but as a passenger stuck in Southern California traffic, you tend to put a bit more work into something that you'd normally half-ass in just about any other circumstance:B. I miss my boyfriend's little town in North Carolina where traffic is a few cars in front of you at a stoplight:<. Oh, and the people there don't have their noses permanently stuck up in the air there either, but that's a whole 'nother story.
I also really need to begin trying to finish my artwork past the sketch stage. At the moment though, I'm confined to drawing while sitting on my bed, and a mattress or clipboard while sitting cross-legged doesn't make for very comfortable sketching positions. Same with a tablet, although that method hasn't been agreeing with the shakiness my hands have developed anyway. I do have a desk, but it's situated to where it's difficult to get to with the way my tiny room is organized, so I'm hoping to move some things around to be able to easily access said desk. Who knows if that'll even be possible though, this place is basically nothing but a place to sleep, keep my suitcases, and store boxes of old junk from my high school days that I'm too much of a sentimental packrat to get rid of.
I'm currently working on changing Addie's design slightly, but only in terms of her mix of breeds and fur texture. I'd like for her to have longer, more border collie-esque hair as oppossed to the rougher terrier hair she's shown as having on her reference sheet at the moment. I'm wanting her tail to be held lower and more closely resemble a border or golden retriever's, but I'm having some difficulty getting the look I'm wanting drawn out right. She'll still be a border collie mix, but instead of the other half of her being a random terrier breed, I'm going to replace it with Mudi. Guess we'll see how that goes...
Huh, I didn't realize that it'd been about a year since I last posted to this journal. I lose track of time way too easily. Not much has been going on since then. I'm still unemployed and all that jazz. Whoo.
My secondary characters need more attention. Whenever I actually doodle something, it always seems to be Addie (better known as Kahvie and "that stupid thing with dumbo ears"). Not that I've been drawing much at all, of course. I just never have any ideas. My life is ridiculously uneventful, after all. Eh.
In all honesty, I've been trying to at least sketch a lot more, but I'm so obsessive about things that I never even start due to not feeling like I know exactly what I want to draw and then worrying that it won't turn out the way I want it to. It's a vicious, irritating cycle. In response to people I'm acquainted with in my life commenting on the fact that I never seem to produce any artwork anymore, I'm fairly sure that the reason I used to sketch or otherwise complete pieces much more often a few years ago was because I was forced to sit at desks for hours while attending high school, and I don't actually have a desk in my home that is comfortable to draw on. I also don't have the attention span to complete artwork in one sitting, so. Blargh. Rambling and boring crap.

Alright, who took all my Photobucket bandwidth? Beetches>:c...
Nothin' really new to post. I found a pen sketch drawn on a manila envelope that I'd uploaded to my Photobucket a few months ago and forgot about until recently, so it'll have to do for now. I really just need to break out a sketchbook and draw...something. I just never think to do it anymore, nor do I ever have the energy to. Blah. Inspiration hath abandoned me.
Still trying to figure out what to do with the journal's design, since I'm not really happy with the way it is now. It needs more red and orange. Fall colors or sommat, yep. It needs a different background image, too...the argyle one is getting way too much mileage in my journal designs.
It's beginning to get colder over here in NC, so I'm very happy about that:P. SoCal was in the mid 90's today though, and I have a ticket to fly back there on the 7th of next month, so here's hoping it'll have cooled off to at least low 70s by then. I still need to finish some new emoticons for both this journal and my old one. Yerp.
For now, here's something I did a few months ago.
